5 Major challenges of online education in India

So here as no. of covid19 patients are getting increased, a new social norms is going to be followed in future. Well, after covid19 pandemic, things will not be same as before and significant changes could be seen in education system too.
Many schools, colleges and institutions will not function same as before.
Well India has already taken a few initiative even before covid19 regarding online education. Following these are a few initiatives of those.

National Repository of Open Education Research (NROER)- It is an platform to get access to e-library, e-books and other e-course.

DIKSHA - It is an MoHRD initiative for teachers from class 1 to 12 class to get equipped with first class National Digital Infrastructure.

e Pathshala-  An excellent platform for student from 1st to 12th class to access thousands of audio, video, ebooks, flipbooks. All digital repository made available by NCERT.

SWAYAM- an initiative of GoI for students of 9th to 12th, undergraduate, postgraduate and others to facilitate study material in form of lectures, ebooks, tests.

Well, except these there are other initiatives too in form of SWAYAM-PRABHA, National Academic Depository (UGC), National Digital Library of India (MHRD) and virtual classes.

Well even though initiatives have already taken but there are plenty of areas we lack.

#System and Smart Devices- well we have already crossed three trillion economy in GDP but still poverty exist in India at very large scale. A large no. of student access education through Government schools at primary and Highschool level. And most of them don't have any access to smart devices or system for availing online education. Well, even a section of middle class of India too hold one or two smart device per houses consisting 5-7 members per houses. So it will be a major drawback where we have to plan an education system for 1.3 billions Indian.

#Internet speed - we are now in 4th generation of internet speed and connectivity. Well I have already post an article future of 5G in india. I am sure it will be enough an eye opener on current scenario. Even though we are using 4G technology still we lack to most of countries using 4G in internet speed . Well there is already a report where a low internet speed has been observed during Covid19 crisis by 6%. Well it is obvious when a online classes will be conducted and lakhs of student will access the facility at same time then what kind of internet speed could be availed by that time,  it could be understood.

#Electricity- well if we put other things aside , still there is major issue regarding online education, and very specifically in rural India.
More or less cities, towns are getting access to electricity for fair and enough time but still rural area are struggling to get equipped with electricity. Well from a report, 47% of rural area still don't have access to electricity for more than 12 hours and 20 % of them have access for less than 8 hours.

#Internet Penetration and  disparity- well as per  recent report, India is the 2nd highest position in term of internet users after china. Well it could be understood that it is merely due to India's high population. As per the same report India has only 36% internet penetration. Well with such low penetration a kind of disparity also exist.
9 out of 10 internet users access internet only once weak in urban area.
Only  1/3 users access internet for more than a hours per day.
Well as per report, there is a clear gender disparity too exist. Female users are just half of the male users.
Except these, there are a disparity in term of area e.g. Kerala , tamilnadu , Karnataka have more no. of internet users than U.P. and Bihar states.

#Infrastructure and Digital literacy- well we lack by 30% nearly in normal litreacy but when it comes to digital literacy it would be nearly 90%. Even a government teacher don't have access to any kind of training or understanding about online education. Well India needs to create a very proper and suitable infrastructure suited for online classes as well as a proper training for teachers. 

Well except these challenges, there are many more challenges in online education e.g. lack of environment, many distractions and a proper communication between teacher and students.
